OLEDB cache provider (Excel, Access, etc..)

System requirements

OLEDB is a common data engine that can be used toward different data sources. In this example we illustrate how to setup with Microsoft Office Excel.

To enable use of Excel you need to add the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider to the Analyze PRO installation.

If the Analye PRO solution is installed in a 64-bit system then you need to install the 64-bit driver of Microsoft Access Database Engine. Download it from her:

Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable

Install it on the same server as the Analyze PRO solution is installed.

When it is correct installed you should see it in the list of available OLE DB Provider on the servers as in the example below (Microsoft Office 12.0 Access database engine ole db provider).

Setup in Data Central

Select the Provider: "OLEDB Cache Provider"

Type in a name of the new datasource.

Data Source should consist of full path to the Excel/Access file.

Custom field should have the following syntax:

Extended Properties="Excel 12.0;ReadOnly=true;HDR=YES;IMEX=1;";

If you are going to use Access you do not need the extended properties, and should type in the full path to the Access-database in "Data Source" field.

NOTE! About using the provider together with Analyze PRO Data Sync.

Data Sync:
AccessDataBaseEngine x86 works with shared cache and data sync.

AccessDataBaseEnginex64 does not work with shared cache and data sync.

Data Central:

AccessDataBaseEnginex86 works with real-time cache and not shared cache.

AccessDataBaseEnginex64 works with shared cache and real-time cache.
