A connection to a database must first be established in order to retrieve data from it. You do this by defining a data source. First, select the type of data source from which you will retrieve. Give the data source in Business Analyze a name and a description.
The address where the server database exists.
The name of the database to which you are connected.
State the username and password of the database user.
Data source variables
Substitute values that can be used in a query.
Note! Some of the options mentioned above can vary according to the provider that is selected (Oracle, OLEDB etc.).
When you have saved the definition of the data source, you can now test the connection by clicking on “Test”. Select “Test the saved source”, if you wish to test the version that is saved.
